Herdade das Barradas da Serra has an area of over 600 hectares at the foothills of the Serra de Grândola, 4 kilometres from the village of Grândola and about 15 minutes from some of the best beaches in the country.
Here you will find the ideal place to base your holidays on the Alentejo Coast and the rest of the region, which has so much to offer, as well as to broaden your horizons, breathe fresh air and enjoy the numerous outdoor activities that Herdade das Barradas da Serra and its partners have to offer you.
Herdade das Barradas da Serra, Sociedade Agrícola, Lda. is a tourism animation company with the RNAAT registration number 314/2019 (temporarily suspended).
Due to COVID-19 we had to refocus temporarily on other activities more directly related to the hotel, so we had to suspend our Co-Drive and E-Bike experiences, that work under the tourism animation license. The scheduled return date is October 2020 (to be confirmed).
Are you a motorsport fan, a speed lover or simply one of strong emotions?
Our co-drive experience puts you next to a racing driver on a track used for testing today's most competitive cars, always with great safety concerns.
Guided ride on electric mountain bike
The Serra de Grândola is a paradise for mountain bikers on a national level, with many valleys, water streams, single-tracks and mountains with breathtaking views. With our electric Mondraker mountain bikes, we make this paradise accessible to everyone, and challenge you to discover new limits on a guided tour where you will also be offered local gastronomic experiences.
Hiking trails and Owners' Tour
In order to provide access to the houses, the fountains and to allow the harvesting of cork, over centuries and generations paths have been opened all over the estate, many of them hidden or little used. We decided to share this treasure with our guests, creating a network of marked trails, with four different levels, which can be traversed on foot or by bicycle, independently. If you prefer a custom experience, you can do the Owners' tour, where you will walk these and other paths accompanied by one of the members of the owning family, and where you will learn much more about the history of the places and about the Montado (cork oak forest).
