The tracks of the cork oak forest in E-MTB – 5th to 7th April 2019

Electric bikes have revolutionized the BTT technology landscape and opened the most challenging routes for new practitioners. With a range of up to 70 km, state-of-the-art frames and suspensions, and a high level of comfort and efficiency, these bikes allow you to reach places and travel distances that seemed difficult to overcome. In a three-day program, with two days on a bike, come breathe fresh air and experience a new freedom riding a mountain bike.

The programme

The cork oak forest is one of 35 world biodiversity sanctuaries, assimilated to the Amazon, the African savannah, the Andes and Borneo. The cork oak forests contain more than 160 species of birds, 24 species of reptiles and amphibians and 37 species of mammals, some of which are at high risk of extinction. The “Serra de Grândola” is mainly dominated by this landscape which, thanks to the exploitation of the cork, weighs enormously in the economy of the region. To facilitate the process of extraction and transport of cork, a network of roads and paths has been opened and dug in the “Serra de Grândola” for centuries. Its valleys and steep slopes make it a paradise for MTB lovers.

The exclusive 2-day trip that we propose will take you to some of the most beautiful landscapes of Portugal, where in the valleys you pedal next to Ribeira de Grândola and, at the top of the hills, you will be able to see the sea, with all the comfort and reach that only an electric bike could provide.

In a group of never more than 6 people, with the constant supervision of a guide, you can live a unique experience and reach places that would be virtually inaccessible on a classic bike. At the end of the day, a dinner with the best of Alentejo cuisine awaits you near the fireplace, followed by the comfort of a night at the Herdade das Barradas da Serra, ideal for restoring energy.
